About the Event

The proposed 3-Day Online Certificate Course on Gender, Law, and Practice is envisioned as an intensive academic and practice-oriented programme for law and liberal arts students. The course is premised on the recognition that questions of gender justice occupy an increasingly central position within constitutional interpretation, criminal law, social welfare legislation, and judicial decision-making in India. Despite significant developments in jurisprudence and legislative reform, gender-related legal issues continue to present complex challenges in interpretation, implementation, and access to justice. These challenges are further intensified when gender intersects with caste, disability, class, sexuality, and ecological contexts. The certificate course seeks to respond to this gap by offering a structured platform for critical engagement with gender-centric legal theory, statutory frameworks, and institutional practices. The programme aims to equip participants with analytical clarity, doctrinal grounding, and practical insights necessary for gender- sensitive legal practice, research, litigation, and policy engagement.

Eligibility

The competition is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, as well as academicians, scholars, practitioners, consultants, researchers, and policymakers, from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to law, social sciences, liberal arts, humanities, public policy, media, management. There can be multiple participants from the same university
