About the Organization
EUTOPIA is an ambitious alliance of nine like-minded European universities, joining forces to build the university of the future.
EUTOPIA’s long-term mission is to build a unique and daring alliance of transformative and engaged institutions. EUTOPIA students, researchers and staff are currently working together to build a new academic model, reflecting an open and united Europe, respectful of all citizens and the environment. The alliance works together with its associate and global partners to reach its aims. EUTOPIA provides opportunities for students and staff alike, from undergraduate through post-doc, and for researchers, teachers, technical and administrative staff. Efforts are already underway to produce challenge-driven research and teaching, prepare empowered European graduates, champion regional and international involvement, and support diversity, inclusivity and widening citizenship.
About the Fellowship
The EUTOPIA-SIF program is developed by the EUTOPIA European University, an ambitious Alliance of six like-minded European universities: the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), CY Cergy Paris Université (France), the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain), the Göteborgs Universitet (Sweden), the Univerza v Ljubljani (Slovenia) and the University of Warwick (United Kingdom). The EUTOPIA alliance was selected as one of the first Erasmus+ ‘European Universities’ pilot projects in 2019. The core mission of EUTOPIA is to promote a connected and inclusive academic community, addressing global and local challenges, advancing excellence, inclusion, impact and innovation.
The EUTOPIA-SIF program aims at enhancing the research potential and career perspective of outstanding young researchers from around the world. It will provide the opportunity for early career researchers to develop their independent research in the scope of an interdisciplinary scientific project, and undertake training. Fellows will be hosted by one of the partner universities of EUTOPIA and will be offered extensive mobility opportunities within EUTOPIA and beyond.
Applications are welcome in the following key research areas:
- Materials Engineering,
- Data & Intelligence,
- Health,
- Sustainability
- Welfare & Inclusion.
Interdisciplinary approaches are particularly encouraged. Applications are invited from all disciplines, including Science, the Social Sciences, the Humanities and Arts in connection with the above key research areas.
Eligibility criteria
In addition, the following criteria are essential in order to be considered for a fellowship award:
- Applicants should have a track record of producing research outputs such as peer-reviewed publications in which they have played a significant role, conference & research presentations and contributions to symposia and compiled volumes;
- Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to a research career and show how they will use the fellowship to advance this aim
