About the Organization

At AnitaB.org, we envision a future where the people who imagine and build technology mirror the people and societies for whom they build it. We connect, inspire, and guide women in computing, and organizations that view technology innovation as a strategic imperative.

Our social enterprise supports women in technical fields, as well as the organizations that employ them and the academic institutions training the next generation. A full roster of programs helps women and non-binary technologists grow, learn, and develop their highest potential.

About the Award

The Systers Pass It On Awards honor Anita Borg’s desire to create a network of women technologists helping one another. The cash awards are a way for women in technological fields to support other women seeking community.

The program is called “Pass It On” because it comes with the moral obligation to “pass on” the benefits gained from the award.

This award is open to women from all backgrounds over the age of 18 years old working or aspiring to work in the computing field. Winners will receive a $1,000.00 reward and ticket to GHC. The project must benefit girls and/or women. For verification purposes, you are required to have a letter of reference and address on file before submitting.

Eligibility

The award is available to any woman over the age of 18, though she must be in or aspiring to be in the computing field. We encourage applications covering a variety of needs and projects including but not limited to:

• Assistance with studies, job transfers, or other transitions in life
• A broader project that benefits girls and women
• Projects that seek to inspire more girls and women to go into the computing field
• Assistance with educational fees and materials
• Mentoring and other supportive groups for women in technology or computing
