About the Organization

The World Health Summit is the international platform for global health. It brings together stakeholders from politics, science, the private sector, and civil society from around the world to set the agenda for a healthier future and well-being for all. The World Health Summit strengthens exchange, stimulates innovative solutions to health challenges, fosters global health as a key political issue, and promotes the global health debate in the spirit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

About the Event  

The World Health Summit will be offering travel and accommodation stipends for up to fifteen individuals from low- and middle-income countries and lived experience voices to participate in the World Health Summit in Berlin, October 12-14, 2025. 

Scope of the stipend:

The World Health Summit will:

• Book and pay for roundtrip economy class flights to and from Berlin.
• Book and pay for a hotel stay (4 nights incl. breakfast, Oct. 11-15) in walking distance to the WHS venue.
• Provide World Health Summit 2025 registration (incl. food and beverages).
• Cover miscellaneous expenses (reimbursement of up to 200€), e.g., for transport within Berlin.
• Cover visa and passport costs (reimbursement of up to 200€).
• Invite stipend recipients to participate in the World Health Summit’s Kick-Off reception on Saturday night (Oct. 11) ahead of the World Health Summit 2025.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the participant stipend program, applicants must

• Hold the nationality of and must reside in a low- or middle-income country according to the World Bank categorization for 2024-2025 or demonstrate a unique lived. experience perspective relevant to the World Health Summit 2025 program.
• Complete each item of the application form:
• Personal information, including country of nationality and of residence
• Letter of motivation (min. 1 page, font size 11; max. 2 pages)
• CV
• Proof of activity in global health (e.g., work, advocacy group membership, letter of recommendation)
• Proof of sufficient English fluency as the World Health Summit conference language is English
• Be eligible to apply for a short-term Schengen visa.

How to Apply

• Applications may only be submitted via the designated online form
• The World Health Summit will announce the beginning of the application period publicly.
• The World Health Summit will contact each selected individual via email. In case a selected applicant is unable to accept the stipend, candidates from a waitlist will be contacted.

The deadline to apply is April 30, 2025, at 11:45 PM CEST.
