Aahwahan Foundation in partnership with NTT DATA Strengthens Science Education with New Model Laboratory at CCMA Government Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore

Reinforcing their shared commitment to strengthening education infrastructure in government schools, Aahwahan Foundation, in partnership with NTT DATA, inaugurated its 511th Model Science Laboratory at CCMA Government Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The state-of-the-art facility has been established to provide students with access to experiential science learning through modern laboratory infrastructure and hands-on practical exposure. The inauguration was led by Mr. Braja Kishore Pradhan, CEO & Founder of Aahwahan Foundation, in the presence of Mr. Gopa K., Vice President, NTT DATA, Chennai, along with school authorities, teachers, students, and members of the local community. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Braja Kishore Pradhan, CEO & Founder of Aahwahan Foundation, said, "Every child deserves access to quality education, irrespective of the school they attend. Practical learning plays a vital role in nurturing scientific curiosity and critical thinking. Through this Model Science Laboratory, we hope to inspire students to explore, experiment, and develop the confidence to pursue opportunities in science and innovation."
The newly established Model Science Laboratory has been thoughtfully designed to transform science education from textbook learning into practical exploration. Equipped with modern laboratory infrastructure, quality apparatus across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, dedicated workstations, organized storage systems, improved lighting, and a student-friendly layout, the laboratory encourages experimentation, innovation, critical thinking, and scientific curiosity. Smt. K. Sumathi Head Mistress, CCMA Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore said, "A well-equipped science laboratory transforms curiosity into discovery and prepares students to embrace the possibilities of tomorrow. The students are highly excited about this new facility, and it has significantly enhanced their curiosity and interest in learning science. With access to practical learning tools, teachers can now explain scientific concepts more effectively through demonstrations and experiments. This laboratory will encourage students to explore, understand, and develop a deeper interest in science through hands-on experiences."
The project is expected to benefit more than 4,000 girl students, creating an environment where they can pursue their education with greater confidence, comfort, and dignity. By improving access to essential learning resources, the initiative aims to support students’ academic growth and encourage greater participation in science education. Mr. Gopa K, Vice President, NTT DATA, Chennai, said, "When students are given the right tools to learn, they gain the confidence to imagine, innovate, and shape a better future."
Over the years, Aahwahan Foundation has transformed government schools across India through initiatives including Model Schools, Science Laboratories, Computer Laboratories, Smart Classrooms, Libraries, Astronomy Labs, RO Water Plants and other education-focused infrastructure projects. The inaugration of the 511th Model Science Laboratory marks another milestone in the Foundation's mission to provide equitable access to quality education and create learning environments where every child can thrive. As part of the broader school development initiative, the partners also inaugurated a Model Toilet, further enhancing the school's learning environment and student well-being.
