Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) and QR678 empower women with PCOS by providing counselling and free hair regrowth therapy

In a heartfelt effort to address the multifaceted challenges faced by women, the Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) and QR678® organized a special event on PCOS Day, offering free counselling and hair regrowth therapy  to women from underprivileged backgrounds. Sponsored by QR678®, this initiative, provided over 30 women with vital support in combating hair loss, a symptom often associated with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) that deeply impacts self-esteem and emotional well-being.

DAF, established in November 2016 by Dr Mitalee Shome, Dr Debraj Shome and Dr Rinky Kapoor in memory of (Late) Dr Debabrata Shome, a humanitarian and visionary, is dedicated to the holistic empowerment of women. The foundation’s mission stems from the belief that while India has made significant progress, the country still faces severe challenges, particularly among those living below the poverty line. Gender discrimination and lack of access to quality healthcare persist across all social strata, making the work of organizations like DAF crucial.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rinky Kapoor, Dermatologist, Director, DAF, emphasized, “Hair loss is more than just a cosmetic issue; it’s a visible reminder of the broader health struggles women face, particularly those with PCOS. By providing free hair loss treatment, we aim to restore not only hair but also the dignity and confidence that these women deserve.”

This study underscores the critical need for awareness and early diagnosis of PCOS, a condition affecting millions of women globally.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in an interactive Q&A session, sharing their concerns and receiving expert advice.
