Background

Asian Paints under its CSR interventions have supported Water Resource Development Projects covering six locations in Four States of India in the peripherals of Asian Paints manufacturing facilities.

The broader objectives of the initiatives were:

Rejuvenation of Water Bodies:

• To increase water storage capacity and recharge through revival of traditional water bodies to enhance irrigation and drinking water availability.

Key Objectives and Scope of Work

The study objective is to assess the extent and nature of impact of the programme upon famers livelihood.

The specific indicators to be assessed are as follows:

1. Impact on access & availability of surface and ground water
2. Impact on Potable water
3. Impact on Agricultural Land and Practices
4. Impact on Farmer’s Livelihood
5. Other Impact Areas apart from Water Bodies Rejuvenation

Target Population

Village Community in and around the project locations specifically:

1. Farmers utilising the water for agriculture/animal husbandry and
2. Families utilising the water for potability and wash including the minimisation of drudgery for water collection for home use.

• The organizations are requested to submit the technical and financial proposal within a week post briefing to the agency is done. Post submission of proposals, if the proposal is shortlisted, discussions with the respective agency will be undertaken for further clarity and to finalize roadmap.
