About Room to Read India

Room to Read India was established in 2003 and presently has programs in 10 states –Chhattisgarh, Delhi NCR, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Room to Read is a global organization transforming the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, our innovative model focuses on deep, systemic transformation within schools during two time periods that are most critical in a child’s schooling: early primary school for literacy acquisition and secondary school for girls’ education. We work in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and ensure girls can complete secondary school with the skills necessary to negotiate key life decisions. By focusing on the quality of education provided within the communities and ensuring these outcomes are measured, we have created a model that can be replicated, localized, and sustained by governments. Room to Read has globally distributed offices and staff and has so far benefited more than 39 million children across 23 countries.

Scope of work

Room to Read India is seeking the services of an interior design consultant/agency to enhance and revitalize our office spaces. The project will focus on designing key areas such as the reception, cafeteria, studio, and other spaces within our office premises. The goal is to create a vibrant, functional, and inspiring work environment that aligns with Room to Read's mission and values.

Deliverables

The selected interior designer consultant/agency will be responsible for delivering the following:

• Detailed design concepts for each specified area.
• Mood boards, color palettes, and material selections.
• Decor recommendations.
• 3D renderings or visualizations of the proposed designs.
• Fixtures of the finalized designs at the designated spots in the office.
• Setting up of a communications studio with appropriate designing/graffiti and appropriate lighting/noise reduction materials.
• A comprehensive project timeline with key milestones.
• The interior designer must have a proven track record of successful office design projects.
• Ability to grasp ideas/concepts and turn them around in the desired manner.
• Ability to deliver with optimum quality in tight timelines.
• Familiarity with sustainable and eco-friendly design practices is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Room to Read's internal stakeholders and external contractors.
  • The interior designer consultant/agency will be engaged for 3 months, starting from May 2024 to July 2024.

Requirements:

• The interior designer must have a proven track record of successful office design projects.
• Ability to grasp ideas/concepts and turn them around in the desired manner.
• Ability to deliver with optimum quality in tight timelines.
• Familiarity with sustainable and eco-friendly design practices is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Room to Read's internal stakeholders and external contractors.

 Duration:

• The interior designer consultant/agency will be engaged for 3 months, starting from May 2024 to July 2024.

Evaluation Criteria: 

Contract Negotiation: 

Upon selection, Room to Read India will enter contract negotiations with the chosen interior designing consultant/agency. 

Proposal Submission:

Proposals should include a portfolio of previous work, and a detailed approach to the project.

HOW TO APPLY

• Agencies Need to Submit TECHNICAL PROPOSALS ONLY  
• Proposals to be submitted over Procurement.India@roomtoread.org, without copying anyone in RTR.                
• Last Date for the submission is 10^th April 2024.
• Subject for submission of Technical Proposal is – TECHNICAL PROPOSAL – Interior Design Services for Room to Read India.
• Financial Proposal will be asked later upon successful completion of the technical round.
  • Only Shortlisted consultant/Agencies will be contacted and might be called for a face-to-face interaction with the panel.
  • Any incomplete application or process deviation, the proposals will automatically be rejected.
  • Proposals received after the prescribed deadline will not be considered.
  • Selected consultant/agencies will be required to sign and abide by the Child Protection policy of Room to Read.
