Water For People India initiated its operations in West Bengal in 1996 in Nadia and North 24 Parganas districts. Consistent with the global vision and mission, we exist to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments. Water For People India programs has been implemented in 28 districts in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Assam. In all, nearly 1.5 million people have been reached through our intervention focusing on community drinking water and sanitation: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in public institutions and market-led approaches to sanitation. By 2023, Water for People India programs aims to directly benefit 2.7 million people. We aim to build capacities at the district level which will contribute to organizational commitments, thereby indirectly benefitting 14.8 million people. Water For People India implements programs directly and through locally registered non-government organization.

About the Proposal

To document and develop a knowledge product on significant or different changes that occurred over the years of Intervention in two Blocks of Birbhum (Rajnagar and Khoyrasole) through case/success stories and testimonials along with high quality photographs.

Scope of work

National Stock exchange Foundation has been working in two Blocks, Rajnagar and Khoyrasole of Birbhum district since 2018 and has reached out to 15 panchayats with its water and sanitation interventions in three phases. Phase one being initiated in Rajnagar. The project team has worked in tandem with government officials, community to ensure quality of work, upholding sustainability of the services.

The scope of work of the assignment is to capture high level content and narrative for external stakeholders and Donors. The consultant/agency would have to visit project area and talk with the project team, community people and government officials to identify and document the best practices in the form of case studies from the implementing areas. The document would help in understanding its reach, impact on quality of life, complying organization policies. All snaps would be done complying organizational policies supported with signed consent forms. The scope of work broadly shall be:

• Kick off meeting with program leads for project briefing
• Field work for information collection 
• Idea sharing with team, including snaps and interviewees for identifying the case stories to be documented.
• Finalisation of storyline for drafting.
• Submission for review and finalisation.
• Designing of the document

   Deliverables

• A collection of case stories, best practices, and testimonials from two blocks of Birbhum with pictorial representation both in hard and soft copy. The product shall be designed and branded following WFP branding guidelines by the consultant/agency.

Experience.

The consultant/agency should have the following expertise:

• Proven experience in WASH related documentation of best practices and case stories in rural areas.
• Good knowledge of Government’s schemes on WASH and guidelines.
• Must have worked independently on WASH documentation for INGOs and CSRs previously.
• Must have produced high level designed and documented case studies for external dissemination.

The proposal should include a short experience statement and bios of the key team members.

Timeline

The final submission of the compendium of case stories with pictorial depiction and designing both in hard and soft copy shall be completed by 29th Oct 2021
