Room to Read India was established in 2003 and presently has programs in eleven states – Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi NCR, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Position Overview:

Room to Read has an online (GSD) and offline (PIMS) portal for monitoring literacy and girl education programs. These platforms continuously track the progress of the program in different states. The RM&E Assistant will be entering, updating data, coordinating with states, including quality assurance and facilitating sharing and dissemination of various program data through online/ offline portal. The incumbent must work closely with the program teams. This position is based out of our Country Office (New Delhi) with a travel to RtR state offices on a regular basis or as and when required. The position will report to “Officer – Research, Monitoring & Evaluation”.             

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the RM&E Officer, he/she will provide support in designing monitoring forms, implementing, and analyzing program monitoring data.
  • Support in coordination and management of monitoring dashboard and share program monitoring indicators in reports with internal audience monthly.
  • Support teams across the states as the first level of support in GSD/PIMS usage.
  • Ensuring the cross verification of project establishment record with the support of operation.
  • Ensure timely data flow and reporting from State to Country office level and its quality control.
  • Identify the training needs and conduct relevant training for GSD/PIMS users.
  • Generate Reports from GSD/PIMS and clean, enter the data as required.
  • Analyze the data and identify the errors, outliers and inform concerned teams to correct the same in time.
  • Generate monthly fact sheet from the data available in GSD/PIMS and share with team.
  • Ensure timely entry in GSD/PIMS by coordinating with teams and users.
  • Travel when required in the urban and rural areas to oversee the implementation of the program.
  • Conduct literature reviews on different research topics, compile and analyze secondary data sources to help RM&E team and programs as needed.
  • Any other work assigned by reporting manager

Qualifications:

Required:

  • B.C.A/B.Sc/B.Tech (Computers) from Recognized University or its equivalent and related discipline.
  • Candidates having a master’s degree and relevant skills will be preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience on database management.
  • Previous experience in analyzing program monitoring data and MIS.
  • Prior experience of working with Non-Profit Organization and knowledge of managing databases.
  • Experience in Training end users on computer applications.
  • Knowledge of MS - Office Packages (MS-EXCEL, MS- ACCESS, MS-POWERPOINT) is compulsory. 
  • Strong proficiency in data entry and analysis. Knowledge of Advanced level of Excel will be preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of education sector, gender issues, including community involvement in schools will be preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication Skills (Both Hindi & English) is essential.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data driven decision making.
  • Strong Presentation and analytical Skills.
