Job Description

The ideal candidate will join MSC's Government and Social Impact (GSI) team, engaging in a range of projects across public finance, digital governance, urban development, urban resilience, or WASH sectors. These assignments cater to a diverse clientele, including governments, development agencies, and private enterprises. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality work within MSC's established frameworks and methodologies. Their tasks will encompass a variety of solutions, such as technical assistance, research, policy advocacy, innovation management, and catalytic finance, often involving the analysis of extensive quantitative datasets. Alongside executing strategic projects for different donors, the candidate will assist in identifying new opportunities, defining project scopes, and crafting proposals and concept notes, thereby contributing to the team's overall objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Business Execution-

• Actively engage in assignment setup and debriefing meetings.
• Take the lead on small and straightforward assignments while being supervised.
• Perform assignments meticulously, paying close attention to detail and emphasising quality.
• Aid in report writing and data analysis processes.
• Establish connections with client junior staff to gather assignment-related information and data.
• Assist in reviewing delivered training courses, prepared research papers, developed curriculum, and provided technical assistance to clients.
• Contribute to the enhancement of MSC’s tool kits and other published materials.

Professional Development:

• Perform "Quality of Delivery" and feedback assessments with team members following assignment completion, aligning with quality control standards.
• Aid in the growth of fellow staff members by offering guidance and advice when suitable.
• Assume responsibility for personal development, acquiring skills and knowledge that contribute to the organization's success.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Possession of a Masters/Postgraduate degree in Urban Management, Public Finance, Rural Management, Public Policy, Natural Resource Management, Environment, or a related field.
• Consideration of other pertinent professional qualifications that align with specific areas of specialisation.
• Proficient in collaborating with public finance entities, public policy organizations, and development consulting firms.
• Skilled in navigating the realms of public finance, public policy, and development consulting.
• Familiar with the operations of public finance, public policy, and development consulting firms through hands-on experience.
• Experienced in contributing to the objectives of public finance, public policy, and development consulting organizations.

Any other requirements:

• Skilled in collaborating with senior government officials.
• Experienced in working within diverse project teams with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
