Janaagraha began as a movement to promote participatory democracy at the neighbourhood level. We soon discovered, however, that citizen participation alone was not enough.

Governments must also be equipped to deliver infrastructure and services, build their own capacity through training and technology, fully empower elected leaders, and ensure high standards of accountability and transparency.

We then adopted a two-track approach: resolving issues on services and infrastructure through participation, even as we worked to reform the systems that delivered them.

Job Description

Janaagraha is looking for an Associate – Content and Communication who will ably support the Communication team in the content creation of various internal and external collaterals. The Associate must be adept at written communication and a quick learner. They must also be passionate about exploring new media and innovations in communication.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop content for various products such as emailers, annual reports, social media posts, videos, podcasts, etc
• Create and copy edit content for the website and internal publications by liaising with internal program teams and external partners and vendors
• Support copyediting for reports and papers 
• Ensure standardisation of language and tone of voice across all collaterals to ensure brand consistency
• Ensure adherence of the Janaagraha brand guidelines across all reports, papers, newsletters, emailers, social media posts, etc
• Support programme teams in the development of event-related collaterals (such as invitations, web pages, emailers, etc)
• Vendor management support in the creation of collaterals (as and when required)
• Actively participate in the brainstorming and implementation of the Janaagraha communication strategy.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• A Post Graduate/Graduate degree in Communications, Media, Marketing or related disciplines is preferred
• 2 to 3 years of work experience in a communications role is preferred.
