Governments must also be equipped to deliver infrastructure and services, build their own capacity through training and technology, fully empower elected leaders, and ensure high standards of accountability and transparency.
Job Description
Janaagraha’s work in Assam is organized under two verticals – State Programs and State Systems and Capacities. We are looking for a highly passionate, experienced, and competent professional to serve as Program Associate – State Programs for our program in Assam, reporting to Manager – State Programs.
As Associate – State Systems and Capacities, you will play a role in implementing reform agendas concerning state capacities in general and the implementation of people-centric reforms in state and local governments in particular.
Job Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Management
- Timely data collection, ensuring data integrity, and analysis to support program components.
- Develop data-driven insights to inform decision-making and track progress and create reports.
- Ensure best practices for continuous data monitoring, accuracy, and quality assurance.
Project Execution & Implementation
- Support the Manager – State Systems and Capacities in project implementation across components as per requirement.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to track project milestones, prepare updates, and address any challenges in program delivery.
- Participate in field visits, workshops, and training sessions to support the effective rollout of organization development initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage proactively with government officials, department heads, and other key stakeholders to gather requirements, share insights, and foster collaborative relationships.
- Prepare and present data-driven insights and reports to stakeholders, including government officials and team leads, to support decision-making.
Change Management & Capacity Building
- Assist in designing and delivering change management interventions.
- Support the development and dissemination of toolkits, training materials, and resources.
Knowledge Cataloguing & Documentation
- Support in developing and maintaining a knowledge catalogue that organizes and standardizes resources, templates, case studies, and best practices.
- Document key project learnings, stakeholder insights, and implementation challenges, creating a repository for institutional memory that supports continuous improvement.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in public policy, Public Administration, Business, Management, Social Work, Development, Economics, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in project management or in administration of social development projects, schemes or programs.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data management and basic statistical tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal; knowledge of Assamese/ Bengali will be an added advantage.
- Experience in team work, and stakeholder management.
