Job Description
The Assistant Director for IndiaFirst Startup Mission is a pivotal role responsible for driving business development, overseeing operations, organizing events, and managing policy advocacy efforts. This role also involves leading a team to achieve strategic objectives, enhance startup ecosystems, and foster growth and innovation within the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the mission's impact and reach. Develop strategic partnerships with startups, investors, and key stakeholders. Create and execute business development strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution of mission activities. Implement and optimize processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Manage budgets and resources related to operational activities.
- Event and Conference Organization: Plan, coordinate, and execute events, conferences, and exhibitions related to the startup ecosystem. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event execution. Develop event agendas, manage logistics, and handle on-site coordination.
- Policy Advocacy: Engage in policy advocacy to support and promote startup-friendly regulations and initiatives. Collaborate with government agencies, industry groups, and other organizations to influence policy decisions. Stay updated on relevant policies and regulatory changes impacting the startup ecosystem.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and startup founders. Represent the IndiaFirst Startup Mission at meetings, conferences, and public forums.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive mission objectives.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master's degree in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in business development, operations management, or a related field, with a strong background in event management and Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and related policy issues.
- Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies and operational plans. Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities. Experience in managing and leading teams effectively.
