About CHRI:  

Centre for Health Research and Innovation (CHRI) is a PATH affiliate in India that aims to create lasting public health impact across the country. We work on some of the most critical areas of public health including tuberculosis, maternal newborn child health and nutrition, neglected tropical diseases, malaria and vaccines. Our work is spread across India with communities, healthcare professionals, policy makers, innovators, hospitals, laboratories and pharmacists to bring about sustainable, scalable and impactful change in public health.

CHRI will implement the project to ‘To strengthen the comprehensive Urban Primary Health Care in slums of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.’

About the project

India has announced the Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centers initiative to provide comprehensive primary healthcare to the country’s population. The National Health Policy 2017 has highlighted primary healthcare in urban areas as a key policy shift in organizing service delivery. While the Health and Wellness Centers in rural areas is progressing, it is important to strengthen the urban primary health centers so as need based care is provided to the urban and peri-urban population.

Under the project to strengthen the comprehensive Urban Primary Health Care in slums of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, CHRI will work closely with UNICEF to demonstrate an evidence based and scalable model to improve access to quality primary health care. S/he will work under the overall guidance of PATH PHC team.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Coordination and management of procurement and finances for the operation and implementation of project activities in the identified wards of the districts.
  • Manage project activity logistics and update the records regularly.
  • Coordinate the approved project activities making sure that materials, equipment, etc. required are arranged and ready for the activity.
  • Coordinate procurement and engagement of vendors for goods and services.
  • Prepare payment schedules for vendors/agencies.
  • Properly code all transactions.
  • Maintain administration and accounting files.
  • Create all administrative and financial reports monthly or as requested by supervisor.
  • Ensure that payments are compiled, reviewed, and sent to project lead timely for processing.
  • Ensure that entries are entered into project activity tracking logs accurately and timely.
  • Any other task as assigned by Project Lead.

Required qualification and Skills:

  • Good computer skills with sound knowledge of commonly used applications.
  • Assess priorities and manage a variety of activities in a time sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Hindi.
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Master/Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in admin and financial related work.
  • Experience of working with NGOs and government staff is desirable. Understanding of public healthcare systems working modality is desirable.
