Job Title: Fundraising Lead
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat with travel in and out of State
Compensation: INR 40,000-50,000 (Negotiable as per experience)
Time commitment: Full time
Job Summary: The Fundraising Lead will drive the outreach and fundraising strategies of Utthan, integrating strategic thinking, creativity, and relationship-building to secure partnerships, mobilize resources, and amplify organizational impact. The Lead will directly report to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy
- Identify and prioritize potential donors
2. Donor Engagement and Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors & Build new partnerships
- Organize donor appreciation events, networking opportunities, and site visits
3. Campaign Design and Execution
- Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, crowdfunding and CSR events.
- Collaborate with communications team to design marketing materials and social media campaigns.
4. Grant Writing and Proposal Development
- Research funding opportunities and write grant applications
5. Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain a donor database and track contributions, donor history, and communication timelines.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership on fundraising progress and effectiveness
6. Team Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with program teams to understand funding needs and present them effectively to donors.
- Coordinate with finance team to ensure accurate reporting and transparency
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Technical Competencies: Fundraising Knowledge, Grant Writing, Database Management, Event Management
- Behavioural Competencies: Relationship Management, Good Communications, Strategic Thinking, Problem Solving
- Core Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, Attention to detail, Analytical mindset
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Social Work, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit/impact investing setting. Familiarity with CSR guidelines and government funding processes is a plus.
