About the Organization

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based charity with the mission to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies.

Our vision

Our vision is that every young person develops:

  • The knowledge, skills, and confidence to use computers and digital technologies effectively in their work, community, and personal life; to solve problems and to express themselves creatively
  • Sufficient understanding of societal and ethical issues to be able to critically evaluate digital technologies and their application, and to design and use technology for good
  • The mindsets that enable them to confidently engage with technological change and to continue learning about new and emerging technologies

Job Description

We see impact as central to everything we do and put a lot of effort into understanding the impact our work has on young people. We use data insights, evaluation, and research to continuously improve our educational products and programmes, and to communicate about them with volunteers, educators, supporters, and partners.

We are now recruiting an Impact Manager to join our Impact team and help us reach our ambitious goals to measure and enhance the impact of our work in India.

You will partner with product teams to establish clear reach and impact goals for our educational products and programmes in India. You will work with the team to ensure we have reliable and accessible data that is effectively analysed and used to inform decisions about what we can do better. You will build the capacity of the team in impact and evaluation skills and tools, and help to embed a focus on impact.

Reporting to the Head of Impact, and working closely with the Country Director for India, you will ensure that key impact findings and insights on our educational products are being used to inform the direction of future work, and are feeding into management information and reporting. You will also work with the fundraising and communications teams to effectively communicate the impact we are achieving in India to external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is committed to developing an impact culture and evidence-based decisions to help improve the impact we have on young people. You will be inquiring and focused, and confident with data analysis and measurement. You will have strong impact and evaluation skills, ideally gained from conducting research or evaluation for education initiatives in India. You will have the ability to make sense of ambiguity and distil data into actionable insights. We want to be a leader in understanding and improving our impact, and you will share that drive.

We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be working with an exceptional team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with colleagues to establish simple, measurable reach and impact goals across our portfolio of educational products and programmes
  • Work with colleagues to ensure we have reliable, accessible data that enables us to quickly and easily measure reach and impact and make decisions about our educational products and programmes
  • Undertake field visits to our programmes in India in order to conduct interviews, focus groups, classroom observations and to meet with programme stakeholders
  • Conduct analysis of collected data to understand the impact we are having and how we can improve our work
  • Coach colleagues in data collection and analysis skills and tools
  • Identify opportunities to improve the use of quantitative and qualitative data in management decision-making and reporting
  • Communicate findings from impact analysis to product teams and senior management, identifying recommendations and influencing the direction of future work
  • Work with colleagues to communicate our impact externally with our communities and the wider public in India
  • Support and conduct impact evaluations and other projects as required

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

We recognise that everyone has the potential for growth and we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they have some, but not all, of the experience and personal attributes listed here.

  • A degree or Masters-level qualification in a relevant field
  • Experience measuring the impact of social or educational programmes, ideally with schools or in teaching- and learning-related fields in India
  • Knowledge of education systems in India
