Job Description

UNDP is also working in partnership with the State government of Bihar on the “Lightning Mitigation Programme for Rohtas”, which addresses the vulnerabilities of the state related to lightning due to improper urbanisation, socio-economic limitations, climate vulnerabilities, etc. As part of this project, UNDP will prepare a digital atlas specific to lightning and thunderstorm hazards, and conduct vulnerability assessments in the Rohtas district to identify the severely affected regions and populations.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Masters’ Degree in Economics, Policy, Sustainability or related fields.

 Min. years of relevant work experience

• At least 4 years of relevant work experience in climate research and coordination.
• Experience working with government agencies, think tanks, or international organizations.
• Demonstrated experience in research and development of written documents, policy papers, advocacy projects related to climate adaptation finance. Required skills and competencies Knowledge and

Technical Expertise:

• Knowledge of Decentralized Renewable Energy applications
• Knowledge of conducting stakeholder surveys and reviews.

Desired skills Documentation skills:

• Excellent documentation skills, including technical and analytical writing.

Core Competencies:

• Demonstrates integrity and ethical standards.
• Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams under tight deadlines. Required Language(s) Excellent knowledge of Hindi and English is essential.
