About the Organization

IFA is an independent, nationwide, not-for-profit, organisation that makes grants and implements projects across practice, research and education in the arts and culture in India. Set up as a Public Charitable Trust in 1993, IFA started making grants and implementing projects in 1995. Since then, we have supported and implemented over 750 projects, disbursing over Rs 36.51 crore (USD 4.44 million) across the country. The outcomes of these projects—as books, films, performances, exhibitions, games, websites, and archival materials—have been circulating in the public domain through showcases, presentations, seminars, screenings, lecture demonstrations, and festivals, helping widen access and encouraging broader participation in the arts.

Job Description

India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is looking for a Lead – Resource Mobilisation to drive all its fundraising and related outreach initiatives.

The Lead – Resource Mobilisation will report to the Executive Director. They will lead a two member team and will be responsible for raising resources, developing growth strategies of the Foundation, and overseeing the delivery of IFA’s fundraising communication and outreach.

Job Responsibilities

Resource Mobilisation:

  • Conceptualise IFA’s growth strategies and set all fundraising annual plans with the Executive Director
  • Be responsible for annual fundraising and revenue targets across IFA initiatives
  • Track fundraising growth at IFA
  • Build a Corporate Engagement strategy for stronger relationships with the corporate community
  • Responsible for securing Programme and Institutional support through Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Implement strategies for new donor acquisition
  • Raise sponsorships for events and forge partnerships for the same
  • Create and sustain networks, collaborations and partnerships
  • Be responsible for donor engagement and donor reporting
  • Conceptualise and implement art events and specific arts services to raise funds
  • Oversee fundraising related communication and outreach at IFA

Administration:

  • Responsible for the two member team reporting to this position
  • Prepare budgets, revenues, annual and quarterly plans for the above-mentioned areas of work
  • Serve as a point of contact for ED and other HODs for the above-mentioned work areas
  • Write proposals, reports/ reviews for the above-mentioned work areas for Trustees/ donors

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support IFA activities across departments
  • Contribute through ideas and take responsibilities for additional work as and when required
  • Represent the Foundation at different forums

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in active fundraising for the non-profit sector. People from arts and culture organisations will be preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of the functioning, current issues and activities in the non- profit sector, philanthropy, and the arts
  • An understanding of the trends in national and international arts funding
  • Good grasp of financial management
  • Self-driven, patient and persistent
  • Belief in the values of the arts and able to convincing advocate for support
  • Ability to lead teams and work across different departments
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with creating fundraising communication
