Job Responsibilities

The MRV consultant’s role will involve:

• Conduct baseline assessments to establish the existing carbon stock within the project area.
• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining management activities, timelines, and responsible parties. Identify and engage relevant project partners, as required, for successful implementation.
• Conduct stakeholder consultations as per the selected standard requirement.
• Prepare Project Design Document (PDD) outlining all the elements as per the chosen carbon standard's requirements.
• Capture lessons learned in project management to support refinement/improvement of existing policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the development of MRV business as assigned in terms of concept note preparation, business development initiatives and networking with potential clients.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as environmental science, engineering resource / development economics, climate, biodiversity etc.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with a demonstrated track record in handling MRV project specifically project identification, structuring, implementation of various standards – VERRA and GOLD etc., monitoring and evaluation of MRV projects, carbon credit process etc. Demonstrated techno-commercial experience in MRV project identification, structuring, linking with potential clients etc.
• Knowledge and competency to evaluate and recommend an appropriate carbon standard (e.g., Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)).
• Experience in undertaking an analysis of ARR project, considering factors like plantation density and potential yield.
• Experience in estimating the potential carbon sequestration benefits.
• Understanding of risks and appropriate risk mitigation.
• Ability to manage documents required for registration.
• Excellent understanding of MRV ecosystem.
• Knowledge of GIS tools.
• Experience of developing guidelines for MRV implementation, risk assessment and mitigation etc.,
• Experience in working with international organizations and/or research/academic institutions is highly desirable.
• An excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Ability and willingness to work in a flexible and agile manner and deliver according to the demand of the projects.
