About Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM): Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM) is 56 years not-for-profit, secular, voluntary ISO 9001-2015 certified organization, based on Gandhian ideology, working for the development of the women, children and youth in the rural, tribal as well as urban areas of Andhra Pradesh. VMM is implementing different projects with various national and International Donors.

Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM), in partnership with the LLLF, is working on mental health. This initiative contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focuses on three mandals of Visakhapatnam (Simhachalam, Anandapuram, Pendurthi) in Andhra Pradesh:

Position: 1 Project Manager (Salary: Rs. 25000) position responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the project. The role involves managing day-to-day activities, engaging with stakeholders, training team members, and reporting progress to the Project Director.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background: Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3–5 years in project coordination, preferably in child development or related programs.
    • Proven experience in training, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Proficiency in data validation and report writing.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Location

This role is based in Visakhapatnam (Simhachalam, Anandapuram, Pendurthi) in Andhra Pradesh.

 

Position:1 Counsellor (Rs.22000)position focused on counselling, especially for persons with mental illness and their care taker.

Key Responsibilities

1. Counseling Services

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions for children, adolescents, and families to address emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges.
  • Develop and implement personalized counseling plans based on assessments of the individual's needs.
  • Offer crisis counseling and support to address immediate concerns affecting children or families.
  • Guide parents and caregivers on creating supportive environments for children’s mental health and well-being.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards during counseling sessions.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Decision-making and problem-solving
  • Emotional regulation and self-awareness
  • Stress management and resilience-building
  • Adapt training content and methodologies to suit the age group and cultural context of the participants.
  • Engage in peer group discussions and role-play activities to reinforce learning.

Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in counseling and/or life skills training, preferably with children and adolescents.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong counseling skills with empathy, patience, and active listening.
  • Knowledge of life skills education frameworks and child development.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills to engage with diverse groups.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in documenting sessions, preparing training reports, and monitoring outcomes.
  • Fluency in local Telugu, Hindi and English is an advantage.
  • Computer literacy.

Location

Based in Visakhapatnam (Simhachalam, Anandapuram, Pendurthi) in Andhra Pradesh.

 

Position: 2 Supervisor (Rs. 16000) role is monitoring the community outreach workers and support them in awareness raising activities, identification of PWMI, mobilize to access services, linking the needy to service, follow up, data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refer cases requiring specialized intervention to counselors or relevant service providers.
  • Ensure follow-up on referrals to track progress and outcomes.
  • Collect data and feedback from the community regarding program activities and their impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, including attendance, feedback, and issues identified.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Program Coordinator on outreach activities and challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background:

  • Minimum qualification: A degree in Social Work or related fields is an advantage.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in community outreach, social work, or grassroots mobilization.
  • Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable groups is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse groups.
  • Ability to build trust and relationships within communities.
  • Knowledge of local languages (Telugu) is essential; English is an added advantage.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple activities and priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the project areas.

Position: 10 Community Outreach workers (Rs. 10000) role in engaging with communities to raise awareness, identification of PWMI, mobilize to access services, linking the needy to service, follow up. This position involves direct interaction with families, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct door-to-door visits, group meetings, and community gatherings to spread awareness about the project and its objectives.
  • Identify persons and families in need of counseling or other support services.
  • Refer cases requiring specialized intervention to counselors or relevant service providers.
  • Ensure follow-up on referrals to track progress and outcomes.
  • Promote awareness on mental health, education, and life skills through community campaigns and interactions.
  • Disseminate information through various communication channels, including posters, leaflets, and digital platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, including attendance, feedback, and issues identified.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Program Coordinator on outreach activities and challenges.
