ABOUT Professional Assistance For Development Action (PRADAN)

PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) is a non-government, non-profit organisation that works with India’s rural underserved. Across ten states in the country, PRADAN professionals engage with disadvantaged communities to help them emerge from poverty and lead a life of dignity. PRADAN promotes Self-Help Groups, develops locally relevant economic activities, mobilises finances from government schemes, and introduces models to improve livelihoods of the marginalised communities and sustain their progress. As of 31st March 2023, PRADAN along with partners, impacted the lives of 2.64 million rural households spread across 25,421 villages, in 575 community development blocks, 133 districts, and 8 states of India.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Eligibility criteria

• Support the Rajasthan Agriculture Department in planning, strategizing, and implementing activities under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) to achieve the mission objectives.
• Develop and disseminate ICT-based learning and communication materials, including training content, IEC materials, digital resources, and knowledge products to promote natural farming practices.
• Collaborate with the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) and provide technical and operational support to ensure effective implementation and achievement of mission targets.
• Coordinate with the Agriculture Department and other government agencies to facilitate the timely issuance of government orders, operational guidelines, and other administrative approvals required for mission implementation.
• Undertake regular field visits to districts to monitor programme implementation, assess progress, identify challenges, and recommend suitable interventions for improving project outcomes.
• Facilitate convergence with relevant government departments, research institutions, and other stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of natural farming initiatives.
• Document field learnings, best practices, and success stories, and support reporting, monitoring, and knowledge management activities under the mission.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Agriculture Department, Government of Rajasthan, to support the successful implementation of the National Mission on Natural Farming.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience working in the agriculture sector.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the field of natural farming, including
• working with various stakeholders and possessing technical expertise in natural farming.

Educational Qualification:

• Degree in Agriculture or related course/subject

Desired Skills and Competencies:

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Good facilitation skills for working with community groups, collectives, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Hindi.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in stakeholder coordination with government departments, community institutions and other development partners.
• Ability to build partnerships and facilitate convergence with government programmes and schemes. 

Proposed Salary range 

• INR 8-12 Lakh CTC per annum based on qualification and experience (As per PRADAN pay structure for FTEs)

Preference 

• Experience in the social/development sector, with hands-on experience in Natural Farming, sustainable agriculture, community institutions/collectives, or rural livelihood promotion.

Age: 

• Preferably up to 35 years
