Location: Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan
Reporting To: Program Director
About Piramal School of Leadership
Piramal School of Leadership (PSL) works towards transforming public systems by building compassionate leadership, strengthening institutions, and enabling sustainable systems change. Within education, PSL partners with governments to integrate 21st Century Education approaches such as Project-Based Learning (PBL), Social Emotional & Ethical Learning (SEE Learning), Physical Literacy into government school systems aligned with NEP 2020.
Position Summary
The Program Manager will lead the design, implementation, scale-up, and institutionalization of the 21st Century Education Program across state.
The role requires a systems thinker who can work across policy, curriculum, teacher professional development, leadership development, governance, partnerships, and innovation to strengthen public education systems.
The Program Manager will collaborate with government officials, SCERTs, DIETs, education leaders, development partners, and internal teams to ensure quality implementation and measurable learning outcomes. She/he works closely with team and Gandhi and Karuna fellows.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Program Leadership
- Lead end-to-end implementation of 21st Century Competencies programs.
- Develop annual implementation plans and state-specific strategies.
- Translate organizational vision into actionable district & state-level plans.
- Drive scale-up and institutionalization within government systems.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment with NEP 2020 and state education priorities.
Program Design & Product Development
- Lead development and refinement the products for the Middle managers, Educators and students
Government Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with SCERT, SIEMAT, DIET, District Education Offices, School Leaders, Development Partners, Academic Institutions, NGOs
- Co-create implementation strategies.
- Facilitate district & state-level review meetings.
- Develop concept notes and government proposals.
Capacity Building
- Design and facilitate high-quality professional development programs for teachers, school leaders, academic resource persons, master trainers, and government education officials to strengthen instructional practices and leadership capabilities.
- Develop and implement blended learning solutions, including workshops, coaching, demonstration classrooms, professional learning communities, digital learning modules, and certification programs to build capacity across the education system.
- Build the capabilities of education stakeholders by designing engaging learning experiences, providing ongoing coaching and mentoring, and fostering collaborative learning networks that support the effective implementation
Program Implementation
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of the 21st Century Competencies program by developing implementation roadmaps, managing timelines, monitoring milestones, and ensuring timely delivery of project objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage implementation risks, and ensure high-quality execution through effective planning, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and technical support to field teams to strengthen implementation quality, drive continuous improvement, and achieve program outcomes.
Governance & Learning management
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess student competencies, teacher practices, leadership effectiveness, classroom transformation, and overall program quality.
- Develop dashboards, analyze program data, prepare periodic reports, and facilitate learning reviews to enable evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Document implementation insights, measure program outcomes, and capture best practices to inform strategy, strengthen implementation fidelity, and support program scale-up.
Innovation & Research
- Lead action research initiatives and review national and international evidence to identify innovative practices that strengthen 21st Century Competencies education.
- Design, pilot, and evaluate innovative education models, tools, and approaches to improve teaching, learning, and system effectiveness.
- Develop case studies, knowledge products, research reports, and thought leadership publications to disseminate learning and influence education policy and practice.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Program Leads and Senior Program Leaders by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Strengthen team capability through regular coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to enhance program quality and impact.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and effective communication to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and successful achievement of organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree in one or more of the following:
- Education, Public Policy, Development Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Management, Public Administration
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in education, leadership development, or public systems.
- Experience managing large-scale government education programs.
- Experience in curriculum design and teacher professional development.
- Experience working with SCERT, DIET, Samagra Shiksha, or government education departments.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing donor-funded projects is desirable.
