Role Purpose
The Program Manager leads implementation and quality of fellowship programs and inclusive education initiatives by strengthening leadership development, managing program teams, and using research and data-driven insights to enhance program effectiveness. The role ensures high-quality execution, capacity building, and knowledge generation across program locations.
The Program Manager works closely with Senior Program Leaders, Program Leaders, and Fellows to consolidate learnings, generate insights, and drive continuous improvement across programs.
Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience of working in inclusive education sector .
Key Responsibilities
1. Fellowship Program Leadership & Operations
- Lead fellowship operations in multiple SOI program locations
- Oversee Gandhi Fellows and Karuna Fellows for School of Inclusion initiatives through program leadership teams
- Directly manage and support Program Leaders./team members managing fellows
- Ensure fellows achieve learning goals through mentoring systems, reviews, and structured support
- Ensure structure and process for assessments and rapid troubleshooting for operational risks
- Anchor adoption and effective use of program technology platforms and analytics tools
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance oversight to Program Leaders and Senior Program Leaders
- Set team goals, monitor execution quality, and support professional development
- Build leadership capacity within program teams and strengthen internal learning culture
- Ensure alignment across fellowship teams and thematic initiatives
3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
- Design and implement robust assessment frameworks for program impact
- Use data analytics to refine implementation and inform strategic decisions
- Produce quarterly and an annual impact dashboard
- Document insights, case studies, and field innovations
4. Research & Knowledge Partnerships
- Build partnerships with research institutions, universities, and knowledge organizations
- Co-develop studies, pilots, and evidence-generation initiatives aligned with program priorities
- Translate field learnings into policy briefs, knowledge products, and practitioner toolkits
- Support external evaluations and contribute to sector-wide knowledge sharing
- Facilitate learning exchanges across program locations and partner ecosystems
5. Program Coordination & Organizational Contribution
- Coordinate cross-program collaboration across fellowships and thematic initiatives
- Consolidate learnings from implementation to inform organizational strategy
- Ensure timely execution of program (fellowship) milestones
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Work, Management, or related field
- Has been a Gandhi Fellow
- 5–8 years experience in fellowship management, social sector leadership, or education initiatives
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-level teams in field-based environments
- Strong facilitation, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills
