ABOUT Institute of Rural Management Anand

IRMA was established in 1979 at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat, erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board to provide management education, training, research and consultancy support to co-operatives and rural development organisations in India. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Collect financial and operational data from SCARDBs, PCARDBs, and branches of SCARDBs.
• Conduct primary surveys of borrowing and non-borrowing members.
• Conduct semi-structured interviews with branch/PCARDB employees and other stakeholders.
• Compile, clean, and manage quantitative and qualitative datasets.
• Assist in data analysis, report writing, and other project-related research activities.
• Undertake field visits in the selected states as required.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of research methods, survey techniques, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Office and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, or similar).
• Good written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of regional languages will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel extensively for fieldwork.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Postgraduate degree in any Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks.
• Preference will be given to candidates possessing NET/M.Phil./Ph.D. qualifications.

Remuneration and Tenure:

• The appointment will be made on a contractual basis for a period of one year, which may be extended depending on the performance, requirements and availability of project funds.
• The selected candidates will be offered a consolidated remuneration up to Rs.37,000/- per month, based on the qualifications and experience. This appointment is purely temporary in nature, and under no circumstances shall it confer any claim or right to permanent employment.
