About the Organization
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct lead field research and coordinate with stakeholders involved in water resource management.
- Develop and implement evaluation tools, and assist in data analysis.
- Contribute to the writing of reports, policy briefs, and the dissemination of findings.
- Supervise and mentor Research Assistants, Field Investigators and interns.
- Collect the data from the field.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Maser in Social Sciences, Social Work, Rural Development and related discipline.
- A PhD or MPhil degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development, Water Resource Management, or / NET in the related field is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as research assistant in participatory water governance, evaluation studies, capacity-building initiatives, or rural development is necessary.
- Strong proficiency in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods is essential.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English are required. Proficiency in Marathi is desirable.
Salary
₹ 47,000 per month
