Job Summary:

In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping and guiding our public health initiatives, particularly focused on tribal populations in India. Your expertise will be pivotal in navigating the complexities of grant acquisition, crafting impactful proposals, forging strategic partnerships, and driving the execution of innovative health programs. You will orchestrate a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a seamless integration of expertise from various domains. Your role will also be key in maintaining robust relationships with our donors, and in the strategic expansion of our organization's capabilities in addressing critical public health challenges.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead the scoping for funding opportunities, aligning them with the organization's focus on tribal health and wellbeing and preventable mortality.
  • Design proposals and concept notes through comprehensive literature reviews and expert consultations to understand the thematic landscape.
  • Form and lead cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, operations, monitoring, learning, evaluation, and finance team members, to design solutions in line with organizational priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence in proposal development and project execution
  • Identify and engage with external partners for collaborative projects.
  • Negotiate scope, technical and administrative aspects of partnerships, and formalize agreements through MoUs and Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Collaborate with partners' technical experts to develop comprehensive proposals.
  • Contribute to the organization’s strategic initiatives, including the development of innovative public health programs and interventions and business plans.
  • Oversee the transition of successful grant applications from planning to implementation, ensuring seamless handover to operational teams.
  • Design project implementation plans for successful grant applications and coordinate with the operations team for execution.
  • Maintain effective communication with project leaders and donors, ensuring alignment with donor expectations and timely submission of reports and data.
  • Oversee a donor governance framework to manage relationships across various projects and donors.
  • Develop training modules for team members on grant writing, project management, and public health topics.
  • Stay abreast of latest developments in public health and grant management, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team
  • ·Cross-functional teams will assist in monitoring, evaluation, and budgeting, you will need to be adept in these areas for effective coordination and independent handling of responsibilities.

Desirable Qualification & Experience

  • M.B.B.S/B.D.S /BAMS/BHMS with an advanced degree in Public Health, International Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, and project management in the non-profit sector/ Health Sector, with a focus on public health.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the health system and government setup. • Preferred-Strong liaising with government counterparts, technical associations, and implementation organizations in the ecosystem
  • Experience in Gender related work will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and complex projects.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research and publications in peer reviewed journals

Essential Skills:

  • Preferred with Knowledge of public health landscape, especially in relation to tribal health in India.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to craft persuasive proposals and effective reports.
