Key Details:
- Position: Senior Manager -Programs
- Location: Kolkata, India (Onsite)
- Contract Duration: 1 year (renewable based on performance and funds availability)
- Reports to: Country Director
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager. – Programs to oversee our diverse program portfolio across multiple states and report directly to the Country Director. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in program management within the development sector, coupled with the ability to support and collaborate closely with the Country Director to drive strategic goals and ensure program outcomes.
Core Roles and Responsibilities (70%)
- Oversee program implementation and design, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting across all initiatives.
- Develop and maintain program budgets and ensure optimal resource utilization, including regular tracking of budget utilisation.
- Design and implement quality assurance mechanisms for all programs
- Identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation.
- Lead the development of annual work plans and strategic documents.
- Undertake capacity building sessions for program teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and partner organizations.
- Lead proposal development and donor reporting processes.
- Develop and maintain program management systems and procedures.
- Prepare narrative reports of all program activities.
Link Responsibilities (15%)
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure integrated program delivery
- Facilitate cross-learning and knowledge sharing among program teams
- Represent the organization in relevant forums and networks
Systemic Responsibilities (15%)
- Contribute to organizational strategy development and implementation
- Ensure documentation of best practices and learning
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in Development Studies, Social Work, or related field
- 12-15 years of experience in program management, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Proven experience in managing multiple programs in the development sector
- Experience in donor management, program monitoring and proposal development.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities
- Excellent program and people management skills
- Strong financial management and budgeting capabilities
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in program monitoring and evaluation
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and google workspace.
Location:
- Based in Kolkata, West Bengal.
- Regular travel to project location in Bihar and Jharkhand will be required (40-50% of time)

Remuneration:
Salary for the position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, reflecting the senior nature of the role.
