About the Organization

PSI/INDIA is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to improve life for SARITA in India, particularly the improvement of reproductive and sexual health, improved services for the health of mothers and children, sustainable sanitation solutions for cities and slums. PSI was incorporated in 1980 under the India Societies Act of 1860 and began implementing full-scale activities in 1988. Over the past thirty-three years, PSI has collaborated with the Government of India and a number of donors to implement various programs towards increasing the use of modern contraception for family planning, to provide products and services for the health of mothers and children and to decrease the spread of HIV/AIDS and TB.

Job Description

PSI India seeks experienced, dynamic candidates for the position of Specialist - Play Team for the program TCI NextGen. The Specialist-Play Team will be responsible for working along with Senior Implementation Specialist - Play Team in coaching program team on the concept of playground for urban family planning and playbook to ensure uniform understanding and implementation of the learnings and best practices gained from the first phase of TCIHC. This will fulfil the requirement of having in place a resourceful and efficient team to ensure support to government at all scale up and existing locations. The position will be accountable for scale up the learning from TCI's first phase with systematic approaches to new states and cities.

Job Responsibilities

• Coach/support program team on establishing TCIHC cities as Playground by ensuring uniform understanding and implementation of the learnings and best practices are demonstrated in all playground geographies
• Ensure and instrumental in establishing playground cities aligned with the checklist finalized in coordination with Lead Play team
• Coach program team in efficient utilization of PlayBook in geographies for faster, quicker, and cost-efficient scale up
• Periodic assessment, review and coaching of team’s capability on sustain the efforts of playground cities
• Support playground cities and program teams for various advocacy related tasks by best practices are shared effectively across all forums
• Support in updation of Play Book as required, based on new learnings, to ensure program team quickly and efficiently modifies approaches with time for better results and outcomes.
• Support in diffusion and implementation of best practices by engaging with program team and playground city officials.
• Support in driving program strategy by closely working with program operations team • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor / appropriate authority.
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Post-Graduate in Public Health with 5-8 years of experience in family planning and successful track record of building and coaching team.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in urban family planning and leading the program implementation through team.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills with good spoken and written English, Hindi and regional language of the state.
• Excellent networking and interpersonal skills; including an ability to work across teams and with staff at all levels
