ABOUT Professional Assistance For Development Action (PRADAN)

PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) is a non-government, non-profit organisation that works with India’s rural underserved. Across ten states in the country, PRADAN professionals engage with disadvantaged communities to help them emerge from poverty and lead a life of dignity. PRADAN promotes Self-Help Groups, develops locally relevant economic activities, mobilises finances from government schemes, and introduces models to improve livelihoods of the marginalised communities and sustain their progress. As of 31st March 2023, PRADAN along with partners, impacted the lives of 2.64 million rural households spread across 25,421 villages, in 575 community development blocks, 133 districts, and 8 states of India.

Responsibilities: 

• Mobilize and actively engage CLFs (Cluster Level SHG Federations) and other Women Collective / community institutions to promote Regenerative agriculture and sustainable livelihood practices.
• Plan and facilitate trainings, exposure visits, and capacity-building initiatives for farmers and community cadres to enhance skills and adoption of best practices.
• Strengthen convergence with relevant government schemes and departments (e.g., VB-G RAM G, SRLM, Agriculture Department) to maximize resource utilization and impact.
• Provide on-ground technical support through field demonstrations, regular handholding, and guidance to community institutions, Panchayats, community cadres, and frontline government functionaries.
• Facilitate access to credit, financial services, and applicable government schemes for community institutions and their members.
• Support development of market linkages, aggregation systems, and value chain opportunities to enhance income generation.
• Build capacities of Women collective, SHG members, CLF leaders, and community cadres in Agriculture practices, enterprise development, financial literacy, and business management.
• Undertake any additional responsibilities related to project implementation and management as assigned by the Reporting Person and Project Team.

Eligibility criteria Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors’ degree / Post Graduate in Agriculture, Horticulture.
• 3 years of experience in Agriculture or rural livelihood programs

Skills and Competencies:

• Technical expertise in Agriculture and horticulture
• Ability to design scalable and sustainable livelihood models.
• Strong facilitation and training skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability with a focus on outcomes.
• Commitment to enhancing rural livelihoods through inclusive and sustainable approaches

Proposed Salary range

• INR 4.0-5.0 lakhs CTC per annum based on qualification and experience (As per PRADAN pay structure for FTEs)

Preference 

• Proficiency in Hindi will be an added advantage.
• The role requires frequent travel to villages. Preference will be given to candidates who can drive a two-wheeler.
