CHAI also has a number of experts working across the organization to help shape global markets, to negotiate lower prices for drugs and health tools, provide clinical support and knowledge, and utilize the latest and best data and analytics to shape decision-making.
Position Summary:
WJCF is looking for a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials for the role of Supply Chain Specialist. The candidate is expected to have experience in designing and managing supply chains of fast moving health commodities or consumer goods. He/she should be familiar with supply chain management concepts and best practices. They must be able to function independently and flexibly, be self-motivated, and should be able to thrive in challenging environments. They will be reporting to the TSU team lead and working closely with NCVBDC staff.
Responsibilities
- Support the malaria division of NCVBDC in administrative tasks related to procurement and supply chain management of malaria commodities, including anti-malarials, long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs), rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), commodities for blood smear examination (BSE), and insecticides for indoor residual spraying (IRS).
- Design tools and processes for improving visibility of malaria commodities at all levels of the supply chain.
- Support the use of Drugs and Vaccine Distribution Management System (DVDMS) for management of stocks, including building capacity of staff at national, state, and district levels for entering accurate and timely stock status.
- Support in assessing and plugging gaps in supply chain, including in warehousing, distribution, and transportation.
- Evaluate and improve methodology for estimating procurement quantity for various malaria commodities.
- Collate, customize, and suggest best practices for strengthening supply chain management from sub-national and national health programs to NCVBDC leadership.
- Establish strong, collaborative relationships with staff and officers in NCVBDC as well as partner organizations supporting NCVBDC for malaria elimination.
- Work closely with the national and state level stakeholders to identify and bridge gaps pertaining to supply chain, capacity building and monitoring and evaluation.
- Should be willing to travel at short notice within India with over 30‐50% travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master’s degree with at least 3 years or post-graduate degree with at least 2 years of work experience. Degree in public health, business administration, or public administration would be preferred.
- Experience supporting supply chain management of public health or public sector commodities, OR experience in the private sector handling supply chains of fast moving goods, OR experience in a top tier consulting firm with supply chain consulting.
- Strong interpersonal skills Highly entrepreneurial and with strong self‐motivation
- Demonstrated success in coordinating various stakeholders/interests and developing strong relationships in order to drive a process successfully Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to multi‐task, set priorities, and be effective under tight deadlines and in high‐pressure situations.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and a high degree of self‐confidence.
Languages:
- Excellent written and spoken command of English and Hindi.
