Don Bosco Tech Society is looking for an organized and experienced trainer to provide complete training to underprivileged youth (based on knowledge and skills with materials, instructions, and other learning resources).

Roles and Responsibilities

The Airline Cargo Assistant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day cargo handling and operational activities at the airport, ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely movement of cargo in accordance with airline procedures, airport regulations, and applicable safety standards. The role requires good knowledge of cargo handling processes, documentation, warehouse operations, shipment handling, and basic airport procedures. The candidate should be physically fit, attentive to detail, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced airport environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving, checking, sorting, labeling, and handling incoming and outgoing airline cargo shipments.
• Support the preparation and verification of cargo-related documents, airway bills, shipment records, and other operational paperwork.
• Ensure cargo is properly weighed, measured, labeled, packed, and segregated as per airline and airport procedures.
• Assist in loading, unloading, movement, and transfer of cargo between warehouses, aircraft, and designated operational areas.
• Check cargo against documentation to ensure accuracy of shipment details, quantity, weight, and destination.
• Handle special cargo such as perishable goods, valuable cargo, fragile shipments, live animals, and other designated shipments as per applicable procedures.
• Follow all airport security, safety, cargo handling, and operational guidelines while performing assigned duties.
• Assist in identifying damaged, missing, or incorrectly documented cargo and immediately report discrepancies to the concerned supervisor.
• Coordinate with airline staff, cargo warehouse teams, ground handling personnel, security teams, and other airport departments for smooth cargo movement.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo received, dispatched, transferred, and stored.
• Support cargo inventory and warehouse management activities, including proper placement and retrieval of shipments.
• Operate basic cargo handling equipment and tools safely after receiving appropriate training and authorization.
• Ensure the cargo handling area, equipment, and workstations are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Assist in resolving routine operational issues and escalate complex or critical matters to the supervisor.
• Adhere to shift schedules, operational instructions, airport access procedures, and company policies.
• Maintain professional conduct and provide courteous support to customers, airline representatives, and other stakeholders whenever required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 10+2 / Diploma / Graduate in any discipline from a recognized institution.
• Previous experience in airline cargo, airport operations, logistics, warehousing, courier, freight forwarding, or a related field will be preferred.
• Basic understanding of cargo handling, warehouse operations, shipment documentation, and logistics processes.
• Good knowledge of basic computer operations, MS Office, and data entry.
• Ability to read and understand cargo documents, labels, airway bills, and operational instructions.
• Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of airport safety, security, and cargo handling procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding airport environment.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physically fit and capable of handling and moving cargo as required.
• Fluency in English and the local language.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
