ABOUT Brahmaputra Board

Brahmaputra Board is a statutory body set up under an Act of Parliament (Brahmaputra Board Act 1980) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. The jurisdiction of Brahmaputra Board includes Brahmaputra and Barak Valley and covers all the States of the North Eastern Region including Sikkim and part of West Bengal falling under Brahmaputra basin. The Board consists of 21 Members under the Chairman, Brahmaputra Board (4 full time Members and 17 part time Members). The Board started functioning with its Headquarters at Guwahati from 11.01.1982. As per subsection (2) of section (3) of the Brahmaputra Board Rules, 1981 Board has established a Coordination Office at New Delhi.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating international cooperation activities including meetings, visits and joint projects with foreign agencies and international organizations.
  • Support the drafting and formatting of official documents, MoUs, agendas, briefs and reports related to international engagements.
  • Track ongoing international initiatives, timelines and deliverables and ensure timely follow-up and documentation.
  • Maintain a repository of international cooperation records, communications and reference materials.
  • Assist in organizing international seminars, delegations, study tours and capacity-building workshops.
  • Facilitate internal coordination between technical divisions and the International Co-operation Cell for compiling relevant data, project inputs and updates.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for international delegations and foreign visits.
  • Monitor global developments relevant to trans-boundary water management, regional cooperation and international best practices.

Essential Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, Public Administration, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Water Resources or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Good drafting, documentation and coordination skills.
  • Prior experience/internship of 1-2 years in international cooperation, government liaison or development sector projects.

Desirable 

  • Master’s Degree in International Relations, Environmental Management, Water Governance, or Public Administration, particularly for roles that require higher expertise and strategic oversight.
  • Exposure to trans-boundary water governance, multilateral engagement or regional cooperation.
  • Upper age limit 30 years

Emoluments (consolidated)

  • ₹ 40,000.00 (Rupees forty thousand) per month.
