ABOUT Brahmaputra Board

Brahmaputra Board is a statutory body set up under an Act of Parliament (Brahmaputra Board Act 1980) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. The jurisdiction of Brahmaputra Board includes Brahmaputra and Barak Valley and covers all the States of the Northeastern Region including Sikkim and part of West Bengal falling under Brahmaputra basin. The Board consists of 21 Members under the Chairman, Brahmaputra Board (4 full-time Members and 17 part-time Members). The Board started functioning with its Headquarters at Guwahati from 11.01.1982. As per subsection (2) of section (3) of the Brahmaputra Board Rules, 1981 Board has established a Coordination Office at New Delhi.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Translation of official documents, reports, letters, manuals and circulars from English to Hindi and vice versa.
• Preparation of Hindi drafts, notes and correspondence.
• Hindi typing and data entry work.
• Assistance in the implementation of Official Language (Brajbhasha) policy.
• Any other work assigned by the organization.

Essential Qualification

• Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory 
• elective subject at the bachelor’s degree level, securing at least 50% marks from a recognized University.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in translation work from English to Hindi and vice versa.
• Desirable Hindi typing proficiency of 25 words per minute (w.p.m.) is desirable.
• Upper age limit 30 years

Emoluments (consolidated)

• ₹ 40,000.00 (Rupees forty thousand) per month.
