ABOUT Brahmaputra Board

Brahmaputra Board is a statutory body set up under an Act of Parliament (Brahmaputra Board Act 1980) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. The jurisdiction of Brahmaputra Board includes Brahmaputra and Barak Valley and covers all the States of the North Eastern Region including Sikkim and part of West Bengal falling under Brahmaputra basin. The Board consists of 21 Members under the Chairman, Brahmaputra Board (4 full time Members and 17 part time Members). The Board started functioning with its Headquarters at Guwahati from 11.01.1982. As per subsection (2) of section (3) of the Brahmaputra Board Rules, 1981 Board has established a Coordination Office at New Delhi.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a centralized knowledge repository.
• Document, preserve and share institutional knowledge and project learnings.
• Promote knowledge sharing through workshops, seminars, and digital platforms.
• Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical manuals and knowledge products.
• Ensure proper indexing, archiving and retrieval of knowledge assets.
• Perform any other knowledge management tasks assigned by the Higher Authority.

Essential Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science / Data
• Management from a recognized University.
• Master’s Degree in Information Science / Data Management from a recognized University and
• Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

Desirable 

• Certification or formal training in Digital Archiving, Content Management Systems (CMS), Data Management, or Technical Writing.
• Proficiency in using database management systems, cloud repositories (like Google Workspace/SharePoint) and basic indexing tools.
• Basic Computer proficiency in library software.
• Minimum 1 year of post-qualification work experience in managing digital repositories, technical documentation, archival work, content management or coordinating workshops/seminars.
• Upper age limit 30 years

Emoluments (consolidated)

• ₹ 40,000.00 (Rupees forty thousand) per month.
