About the Organization
Northeast Center of Equity Action on Integrated Development (NEAID) is a not-for-profit, apolitical grassroots organization led by people from the region to support development initiatives in tribal and rural areas of Northeastern India focusing on Quality Education, Health, and its determinants. NEAID believes that Good Health and quality Education can bring a family out of poverty. Both are powerful tools to bring about pervasive and micro-economic changes in society as knowledge, skills, and health are important parts of human capital that contribute to national productivity.
About the Fellowship
The Akikaran Fellowship, 2025 primarily targets tribal and rural areas working closely with the education system across Kamrup Rural, Morigaon and Darrang district. The fellowship program is an opportunity for Assam's brightest and most promising youth, to serve as educators to children and school ecosystem of marginalised communities in public schools bridging the existing gaps and creating the foundation of a bright future for the children.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct Daily School Visits: Fellows will visit 2-3 mapped government schools in their assigned districts daily.
- Deliver Curriculum/Modules: Implement the curriculum/module designed by the program team, ensuring all topics ensuring holistic development.
- Facilitate Hands-On Learning: Encourage students to engage in experiential, hands-on learning activities, particularly focusing on girls' participation.
- Assist Teachers: Support school teachers in adopting new teaching strategies introduced in the curriculum/module. Conduct need based workshops.
- Monitor Student Progress: Track the academic progress of students by conducting formative assessments as planned. Ensure the curriculum objectives are being achieved.
- Collect Baseline and End-line Data: Work closely with the Program Associates to conduct baseline assessments at the start and end-line assessments after the curriculum is piloted.

What we are looking for:
- Minimum Qualification: Undergraduate degree in any discipline preferably STEM.
- Experience: Experience in the education sector is desirable.
- Motivation: A strong zeal to work for the betterment of society.
- Adaptability: Willingness to live and drive change in remote locations, being comfortable with staying and traveling.
- Leadership Potential: Future leaders capable of contributing to educational and community transformation.
Compensation:
A monthly gross stipend of 20,000. All the expenses made for teaching purpose shall be reimbursed.
