About the Organization

Founded in the year 2000, by Virendra (Sam) Singh, former President and Managing Director of DuPont South Asia, PPES is presently working with around 4000 girls and about 12,000 women in across 138 villages in and around Anupshahr in Western Uttar Pradesh. The objective is the social upliftment and economic empowerment of the girls and women in this region. PPES’ interventions are in the fields of Education (School & Higher Education), Health & Hygiene, Women Empowerment, and Economic Empowerment. With the ultimate aim of ensuring financial independence for these girls and women, PPES also ensures that they are equal and contributing members of their families and communities. Education is the cornerstone of the organization's goal to alleviate poverty and create a fair and gender-just society.

Job Description/Responsibilities

PPES seeks to scale its reach and impact over the next few years. Along with its head office in India, PPES has sister organizations in the UK, USA and Canada. We are now entering the next phase of growth and looking at strengthening the communications vertical in India and building up our internal and external communications.

Job Responsibilities

Website Management:

• Develop dynamic and versatile content.
• Ensure website functionality and software updates.
• Monitor and report on website performance.

Social Media Management (Outsourced):

• Strategize and approve content with external agencies.
• Maintain message uniformity with the fundraising department.
• Coordinate campaigns, special events, and newsletters.

Media Coordination & Public Relations:

• Define and implement PR strategies.
• Write and distribute press releases and social media posts.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets.
• Schedule press conferences and events.
• Analyze PR campaign outcomes and report findings.
• Maintain a media contact list.

Overall Departmental Responsibilities:

• Create audio-visual communication material.
• Adept in designing on Canva
• Run promotions and events
• Oversee media relations and public speaking.
• Manage marketing materials and seek advertising opportunities.
• Develop an annual communications plan.
• Handle internal company communications.
• Conduct research and analysis for institutional messaging.
• Organize training for the PPES team.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

The candidate must be:

• Masters/ Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, PR or any communication-related field
• Experienced in the field of digital marketing, social media, internal & external communications
• Have experience of 5-6 years

Experience and Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills - Persuasive and self-confident
• Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in communication, digital marketing, development communication or related fields
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills
• Excellent proposal and report writing skills
• Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritize own workload
• Strong communication and presentation skills are required to build relationships with all PPES staff and volunteers
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, work well under pressure and with a diverse team
• Preferably a master's in marketing, media studies, journalism & PR
• Fluency in English & Hindi
• Willing to travel within the communities and to the project office at Anupshahr, Uttar Pradesh as per work requirement
