About the Maitri Project:

Under the Maitri Project, the goal is to identify 25,000 Out-of-School Girls (OOSGs) and successfully enrol at least 11,000 of them into formal education systems across the districts of Gaya, Sheikhpura, Nawada, and Aurangabad.

Key Outcome Indicators:

• Identification of 25,000 OOSGs through field surveys and community outreach
• Enrolment of 11,000 girls into schools
• Strengthened community awareness and participation in girls’ education
• Capacity building of field staff and volunteers for enrolment and retention
• Improved gender parity in primary and upper primary education
• Active coordination with government bodies (BEOs, CRCCs, SMCs)
• Effective digital monitoring of attendance, learning, and retention

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor a team of 10–12 Community Coordinators
• Oversee operations across 2 or more blocks; covering approximately 200–250 villages
• Ensure the identification of 5,000–6,000 never-enrolled girls
• Facilitate enrolment of at least 2,000–2,400 girls
• Conduct field spot-checks and cross-verification of survey data
• Counsel parents and dropout girls for re-enrolment
• Build rapport with school authorities and community stakeholders
• Monitor enrolment and retention processes, and resolve field-level challenges
• Collaborate with education department officials for list verification and sign-off
• Provide regular updates, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain quality standards in data collection
• Support parents and community members in navigating the enrolment process
• Travel extensively within assigned areas
• Act as the Implementation Officer (IO) for quality assurance in the D2D survey and enrolment processes

Qualification & Experience:

• Education: Graduate degree (minimum); MSW preferred
• Experience: At least 3 years in the development sector, especially in education or community development projects
• Skills:
  • Strong leadership and coordination capabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication with communities and government officials
• Requirements:
  • Own laptop
  • Motorcycle with valid driving license
  • Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas

Honorarium:

A consolidated monthly honorarium of up to ₹20,000 will be offered, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and previous salary history. Travel expenses will be reimbursed as per actuals, aligned with Centre DIRECT’s policies.
