About the Organization

The French Institute / IFI (Institut français India) is a section of the Embassy of France responsible for connecting and implementing Indo-French human exchanges.

IFI performs numerous functions: from promoting academic and scientific exchanges between higher institutes of learning and research to enabling student mobility and promoting the French language. We also foster links between artists, scientists, NGOs, professors, enterprises, film professionals, publishers and more. We support partnerships in research and innovation, capacity-building and interactions with civil society, vocational studies, as well as artistic and cultural partnerships in performance, books, film, fashion, design and more. We support and organise forums and debates that bring together innovators and thinkers from both countries.

Job Description

The French Institute in India is seeking a versatile and creative professional with strong skills in digital media, design and writing. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of content creation, social media dynamics, and communication strategy.

Working in close collaboration with the Head of Communications and his Deputy, you will lead our digital storytelling efforts, develop strategic campaigns, and produce compelling content that enhances the Institute’s presence across platforms.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Social Media & Digital Strategy:

• Manage and grow the Institute’s presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
• Design and execute monthly social media calendars in sync with IFI’s events and campaigns.
• Assist in launching targeted digital campaigns (organic & paid) for audience engagement and program visibility.
• Track analytics and generate performance reports with clear insights and optimization strategies.

Content Creation & Visual Communication:

• Write original copy for posts, newsletters, press releases, brochures, emailers, and blog articles.
• Develop visually striking and brand-consistent content in collaboration with the in-house designer or external vendors.
• Capture and produce compelling photos as needed to support campaigns and storytelling.
• Shoot and edit video reels or stories when required for social platforms.

Communications & PR:

• Maintain strong relations with influencers, journalists, bloggers, and cultural partners.
• Handle internal communications: updates, memos, team circulars, etc.

Website & Community Engagement:

• Keep the IFI website up-to-date and SEO-optimized (WordPress knowledge preferred).
• Manage and grow IFI’s emailer campaigns and newsletter engagement.
• Update and maintain databases of partners, press contacts, collaborators, and stakeholders.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in social media, communications, or digital content roles.
• Proficient with Canva/Photoshop, video editing tools, and scheduling tools (like Meta Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite).
• Exposure to AI tools for copywriting, content generation, music, and video creation.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
• A keen eye for aesthetics, trends, and storytelling.
• Excellent command over English (writing + editing). French is a bonus!
• Interest in international relations, culture, education, science, and the arts.
