Job Description

As a key member of the community engagement team, this role will lead the engagement of people with lived experience in Rewari. The main goal is to encourage and support young people, especially those with lived experience of mental health challenges like anxiety and depression, and related stakeholders to actively participate in the programme—especially those from underrepresented groups. This includes:

  • Encouraging applications for the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) from local community members
  • Conducting LEAP workshops in accordance with STEER activities
  • Supporting sharing of key findings from STEER in creative and accessible ways, tailored for youth, community, and expert audiences with varied stakeholders.

The role will work closely with the field and research team to ensure alignment with all programme

Job Responsibilities

Lived Experience engagement responsibilities

  • Liaise with STEER Community Engagement Coordinator, field and research team.
  • Encourage engagement of youth and their stakeholders in Rewari through the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP).
  • Conduct quarterly LEAP workshops (online and in-person)
  • Support trainings of LEAP members as required by the project
  • Support communication of workshop discussions to develop Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials co-created with LEAP.
  • Support LEAP participation in the Theory of Change (ToC) workshops 2. Public engagement responsibilities
  • Support delivery of public engagement activities in community spaces, schools and online platforms to further STEER objectives.
  • Support dissemination of co-created IEC materials via media like blogs, social media posts and newspaper articles

Research activities

  • Support documentation of the activities and outcomes of LEAP workshops and related activities
  • Support drafting of summaries and reports as needed.

Team responsibilities

  • Actively participate in team meetings
  • Collaborate with Community Engagement Coordinator to set targets and ensure tracking of lived experience engagement activities in line with project goals

Other responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all LEAP-related data and activities
  • Coordinate closely with team members to ensure smooth and efficient implementation

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an any discipline
  • Demonstrated experience of 2-3 years engaging with communities.
  • Excellent communications and inter-personal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with community members.
  • Excellent quality of written Hindi and Haryanvi.
  • Ability to read and understand spoken English

Desirable criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience engaging with families of young children in Rewari
