About the Organization
Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide methodological, statistical, and analytic support for NHSRC research, evaluations, and implementation-research projects.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, data management, analysis, report generation and interpretation for research studies.
- Support development of research protocols and preparing statistical analysis plans and advise on quantitative designs, sample size, interpretation and presentation of statistical results.
- Contribute to application of advanced statistical methods, statistical analysis enhancements, advancing the knowledge of current and emerging trends in statistical analysis methodology.
- Apply data analytics techniques to generate summaries, insights, and visual presentations for reviews and senior officials.
- Manage available datasets (including large scale data), perform advanced statistical analysis, and prepare analytical progress reports.
- Conduct data cleaning, checks, outlier detection, missing data strategies, and prepare analytic datasets.
- Analyse the existing data from various from government portals (HMIS, AAM portal, NP-NCD portal etc) to generate evidence for policy decisions.
- Develop tables, figures, and write statistical sections for reports, policy-briefs, working papers, and research manuscripts.
- Manage field-level data collection activities, ensure data quality, and oversee field researchers.
- Support program evaluation and contribute to preparing strategic documents and publications.
- Perform additional activities/duties related to the institution, as assigned from time to time by Executive Director.
- Support Executive Director for functions of NHSRC.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Masters in Biostatistics/Statistics (Regular Mode)
- 2 Years of post qualification relevant work experience in Public Health and health research.
- Sound knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of research and statistical applications.
- Sound skill for using statistical analytical techniques and software programs such as SPSS, STATA and R etc.
- Ability to develop scientific models & computations shall be advantageous.
- Knowledge of scientific reporting and manuscript preparation requirements and standards.
- Experience in handling large scale survey data.
