Project Overview:

This exciting project (anchored by CSRBOX) aims to address the complex challenges facing a specific river basin in India. We will implement a multifaceted approach, utilizing micro-interventions that tackle key issues like water scarcity, unsustainable agricultural practices, and improper waste management. Our strategies will encompass:

• Water Resources Management: Optimizing water use, promoting water conservation, and exploring sustainable water harvesting techniques.
• Sustainable Agriculture: Implementing nature-based solutions (NbS) and promoting agricultural practices that enhance soil health and water efficiency.
• Community Behaviour Change: Educating and empowering communities to adopt sustainable behaviors that contribute to improved river basin health.
• Urban Wastewater Treatment: Implementing innovative solutions for wastewater treatment, minimizing pollution entering the river system.
• Policy Advocacy: Influencing policy changes at the local and state levels to support sustainable river basin management.

The Role and Responsibilities:

As a Consultant - Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our NbS interventions within Maharashtra. You will be responsible for:

• NbS Project Design and Implementation:
  • Collaborate with technical experts, stakeholders, and communities to develop and implement NbS projects tailored to the specific needs of the Nashik region.
  • Identify and assess potential NbS solutions, considering feasibility, effectiveness, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop detailed project plans, work scopes, and budgets.
  • Oversee the implementation of NbS projects, ensuring adherence to environmental and social safeguards.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Utilize your knowledge of NbS, natural resource management (NRM), and sustainable agriculture practices to design and implement effective solutions.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in NbS and their application in river basin management.
• Community Engagement:
  • Work collaboratively with local communities to build trust and ownership of NbS interventions.
  • Conduct training workshops and capacity building programs to empower communities in implementing sustainable practices.
  • Facilitate communication and feedback mechanisms to ensure community voices are heard and integrated into the project.
• Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track the success and impact of NbS projects on the Nashik River basin.
  • Collect and analyze data, measuring progress towards project goals and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports to document project findings and impact.

Who You Are:

• Minimum 6 years of experience post-master's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a B.Sc. in Agriculture or similar area.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing projects on NbS, NRM, or sustainable agriculture initiatives, particularly with on-ground implementation in a field setting.
• Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to water resource management and agricultural practices in India.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to project management.
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
• Fluency in English and Marathi is essential.
• Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to creating positive social and environmental impact.
