Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: Minimum 12 years of professional experience (excluding internships) in Disaster Management, risk reduction, environmental assessment, climate change, and prior experience of working on at least one donor-funded project such as AFD, ADB, or World Bank.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering from a recognized institution.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Disaster Management / Climate Studies is preferred.

Job Description
As a Disaster Management Specialist, you will lead initiatives on disaster risk reduction, environmental planning, and climate resilience. You will collaborate with stakeholders, donors, and technical teams to design, implement, and monitor projects aligned with global best practices and donor requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation:
- Develop and execute disaster risk management strategies and plans in line with organizational and donor objectives.
- Conduct environmental and climate risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with donor guidelines and national policies during project execution.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide subject matter expertise on disaster management, climate adaptation, and risk reduction.
- Design and deliver capacity-building workshops and training for stakeholders and communities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with government agencies, donor organizations, and local communities to ensure participatory and sustainable interventions.
- Represent the organization in technical meetings, forums, and donor reviews.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track project progress, ensure timely completion of deliverables, and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Use data and analytics to measure impact and recommend improvements.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and environmental assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and prepare high-quality reports.
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects with a focus on outcomes and sustainability.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with donor-funded project frameworks and reporting requirements (AFD, ADB, World Bank, etc.).
