Job Description

Over the last decade, UNDP India, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), has successfully implemented flagship digital health solutions like eVIN, CoWIN, and UWIN, revolutionizing vaccine logistics and accessibility – covering more than 1.2 billion beneficiaries, more than 1 million healthcare workers and more than 30,000 Health facilities. UNDP, a trusted partner of MOHFW, is a recipient of more than 140 million grant from GAVI in last 10 years and has established partnership with more than 26 states and union territories for sustaining these initiatives with Government domestic funds UNDP India is implementing the South–South Cooperation initiative “Ensuring Equitable Access to Healthcare Services through Digital Health Platforms” (July 2025 – June 2026), in collaboration with the Governments of India, Zambia, and Lao PDR. The project seeks to adapt proven Indian digital health platforms such as CoWIN, eVIN, and U-WIN to strengthen health systems in Zambia and Lao PDR. The initiative will:

  • Conduct landscape assessments in Zambia and Lao PDR;
  • Pilot context-specific digital health platforms (supply chain, NCD drug tracking, immunization systems);
  • Strengthen institutional capacity through India’s ITEC programme and partnerships with C-DAC;
  • Integrate gender-responsive and inclusive approaches, with 28% of the project budget dedicated to gender and LNOB components.

The Coordinator will provide day-to-day technical coordination, donor and partner engagement, and operational support to ensure smooth implementation across the three participating countries.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Min. academic education Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Public Health, Health Systems, International Development, or related fields.

Min. years of relevant work experience

  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in health systems strengthening, or public health programme management.
  • Prior experience in international or South-South cooperation projects desirable.
  • Proven track record of stakeholder coordination with governments, UN agencies, and donors.
  • Strong understanding of gender mainstreaming and inclusive development approaches.

 Required skills and competencie

  • Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to draft high-quality reports, donor briefs, and knowledge products.
  • Familiarity with UNDP systems, financial tracking, and operational procedures is an asset.

Required Language(s)

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills. Strong verbal, writing and reading skills in Hindi will be an added advantage.
