About iHub: IIT Mandi iHub and HCi Foundation (iHub) is a section 8 company established under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary CyberPhysical Systems (NM-ICPS). The focus area of IIT Mandi iHub is “Human-Computer Interaction.” The vision of the iHub is to be an internationally recognized hub that nurtures HCi research, enables technology translation for industry, and scales skill development. The four areas of IIT Mandi iHub are Research and Technology Development, Skill Development, Incubation & Acceleration, and Collaboration.

Job Description

We seek to hire Interns in Multimodal AI to contribute to innovative projects in artificial intelligence systems that integrate multiple data types, such as audio, video, text, EEG, and images. The interns will support the development of multimodal AI models, assist in research and experimentation, and align efforts with the organization's goals in Human-Computer Interaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and prototyping of multimodal AI models for applications in HCI, including audio-visual integration, emotion recognition, or content analysis.
• Conduct experiments, data collection, and performance evaluation to improve model effectiveness and generalization.
• Assist in training, debugging, and optimizing AI algorithms using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Support research on techniques such as contrastive learning, self-supervised learning, or Multimodal Large Language Vision Models (MLLVMs).
• Collaborate with teams on building scalable pipelines and preparing insights for publications or deployments.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Applications (MCA), AI, Machine Learning, or a related fields with a CGPA of 7.0 or higher preferred.
• 3-6 months; prior experience in AI/ML preferred

Desirable Experience & Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, including deep learning algorithms (e.g., CNNs, transformers), computer vision, natural language processing, and multimodal techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with knowledge of data processing, statistics, linear algebra, and probability.
• Experience with audio/video signal processing or prior projects in AI.
• Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration and research-oriented tasks.

Salary

INR 15,000/- per month.
