About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Responsibilities:

Assist in all project activities, including developing the village-level flood vulnerability index under supervision; collecting and preprocessing spatial and socio-economic data; conducting preliminary geospatial and statistical analyses; lead the field surveys and stakeholder workshop logistics; and contributing to academic documentation. The JRF will work closely with the SRF and PI on data management and model development and Field surveys.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Geography, Environmental Science, Disaster Management, Water Policy and Governance, Urban Policy and Governance) or equivalent.

 Desirable:

• Prior experience/coursework in FGDs, Quantitative and Qualitative Field Surveys, geospatial field surveys, is desirable.

Salary

(Consolidated): Salary of Rs. 46,990/- p.m.
