About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

• Implementing a 3 year fund-raising and communication strategy with the Prayas team
• Diversifying Prayas’s donor base
• Lead research and review of RFPs to generate prospective funders for Prayas
• Ensuring excellent and timely submission of proposals
• Managing high quality donor relationship and communication
• Overseeing MIS creation, management and use
• Increasing Prayas’s visibility in the donor and media world
• Driving effective on-line and off-line fundraising and visibility-generating events
• Monitor progress of all fundraising and communication efforts

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and communications with experience of engaging and networking with donors and CSR community
• Knowledge and experience of donor communication, event planning and management
• Ability for developing funder-driven MIS
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills with enthusiasm for building an organization’s digital voice and presence
