Job Position: Manager – Livelihoods and Marketplace

Locations: Ahmedabad

No. of Position: 1

CTC: ₹7.8 LPA - ₹9.6 LPA (Depending on the relevant experience)

About the Position:

The Manager – Livelihoods and Marketplace will lead the design, implementation, and management of sustainable livelihoods and market-oriented programs that enhance economic opportunities for target communities. This role focuses on strengthening market systems, facilitating access to employment and enterprise development pathways, and ensuring meaningful integration of livelihood initiatives with local marketplace dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Design & Implementation

• Lead and coordinate livelihoods strategies that are market-led, inclusive, and socially impactful
• Design programs to develop vocational skills, enterprise support, and economic resilience interventions aligned with current market demands
• Conduct needs assessments, context analysis, and market mapping to identify viable economic pathways and gaps in labour and enterprise ecosystems
• Collaborate with partners, private sector entities, government agencies, and community stakeholders to strengthen value chains and employment linkages

2. Marketplace Strengthening

• Facilitate partnerships and linkages between beneficiaries and marketplace actors for job placements and enterprise development
• Promote access to relevant financial and market services for entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and livelihood groups
• Monitor and strengthen input/output market systems to improve economic outcomes for program participants

3. Capacity Building & Training

• Develop and deliver training modules on skills development, business entrepreneurship, and market engagement
• Mentor team members and implementing partners to ensure high-quality, market-responsive implementation

4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Establish KPIs, implement monitoring frameworks, measure performance, and prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Use data and market insights to refine program strategies and scale effective interventions.

5. Other Duties

• Represent the organization in external forums, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and perform additional duties as assigned

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong ability to analyze market trends, economic data, and employment opportunities
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven skills in capacity building, training design, and team leadership
• Proficiency in MS Office, monitoring tools, and reporting systems

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Business Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in livelihoods, market system development, economic empowerment, or related program management
• Demonstrated track record with livelihoods strategies, vocational skills, enterprise support, and market-oriented interventions
• Experience working with government, private sector, NGOs, or multilateral agencies is preferred
