Job Description

The Program Associate - District plays a key role in facilitating the execution of the Anganwadi Accelerator Program (AAP) within their district. 

The Program Associate is responsible for supporting ICDS supervisors in the execution of their responsibilities in the Anganwadi Accelerator Program (AAP). They will also maintain relationships with the government officials of the ICDS and health departments to ensure the smooth administrative functioning of the AAP. This position requires field presence, program support, team engagement, and fieldwork for at least 80% of the time.

Job Responsibilities

Support for Anganwadi Supervisors

Collaborate with supervisors managing groups of Anganwadi workers, ensuring they receive guidance on maternal and child health, conducting observation and feedback visits.

  • Support, motivate and incentivize supervisors to encourage AWWs to conduct regular home visits and maximise NTL usage.
  • Drive NTL usage among AWWs under their management.

Skill Development of AWWs:

Inspire and empower AWWs to conduct proactive home visits and adeptly utilize NutreeApp Lite (NTL) through training and mentorship.

  • Facilitate comprehensive training to equip AWWs with advanced skills to
    • Identify high-risk cases among mothers and children and plan/effective home visits.
    • Use NTL optimally for home visits involving high-risk cases.
    • Motivate high-performing AWWs to effectively use the NutreeLite app.

District-Level Collaboration:

  • Rapport Building: Build rapport with local government officials to bring effectiveness to the program
  • Data and Reporting: Collaborate with district officials to enhance the accuracy and utilisation of data for program effectiveness. Share reports with respective supervisors and Child Development Project Officers (CDPO), to encourage supervisors in conducting effective supervision visits.
  • Capacity Building:  Facilitate comprehensive training sessions for Anganwadi workers and supervisors, emphasizing effective home counseling visits, growth monitoring, and implementing protocols to mitigate malnutrition risks using technology like NutreeApp Lite.

Others

  • Establish project-specific WhatsApp groups including Anganwadi Workers, Supervisors, and FMCH team members to facilitate communication and updates at the program's onset. Use these groups to share success stories to motivate workers, address their doubts, and provide support. 
  • Undertake regular supportive supervision visits with supervisors to Anganwadi Centers, ensuring quality assessments of home visits, providing necessary support, and offering feedback. Maintain detailed field visit protocols and methods.
  • Conduct a weekly analysis of App usage reports, identification of low-performing supervisors/AWW groups, recognition of top-performing workers, and tracking supportive supervision visits done by Supervisors. Generate lists and reports as per the designated format.
  • Active participation in Monthly Progress Review (MPR) meetings led by Supervisors, discussing AWW visits, top-performing workers, challenges, and successes.
  • Assist FMCH in hiring and office space setup when necessary. Support the Senior Project Associate or Program Manager in improving the quality of the program. Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as scheduled

Communication:

  • Write monthly, and quarterly reports, minutes from weekly team meetings and keeping track of data on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Support in preparing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date reports on all activities undertaken related to community interventions.
  • Assist with the development of public awareness materials into the local language
  • Provide Email and social media requirements such as photos, videos

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master's Degree in Public health, Nutrition, or Social Work
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in Hindi and English
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience working with government/government stakeholders
  • Community mobilising and organising skills, Strong working knowledge of the identified community(s)
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong public speaking skills

Salary

Based on experience. CTC for this role typically ranges between 2.8 to 3.3 LPA
