1. Project Planning and Implementation Management
- Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive project implementation plans, including detailed annual work plans (AWPs) with monthly targets, deliverables, and resource allocation
- Establish clear project milestones, timelines, and performance indicators in alignment with the Project Appraisal Document and UNDP requirements
- Ensure activities are implemented on time, within scope, and within allocated budget
- Oversee day-to-day project operations and coordinate implementation across all project components
- Identify potential risks and bottlenecks early and develop mitigation strategies for smooth project delivery
- Lead quarterly and annual project planning exercises with all implementing partners and field teams
- Maintain detailed project documentation and maintain an organized project management system
2. Financial and Administrative Management
- Act as financial manager and retain ultimate responsibility for project financial resources
- Prepare and manage detailed project budgets aligned with UNDP procedures and guidelines
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and prepare comprehensive budget-versus-actual reports
- Ensure timely processing of financial requisitions, advance of funds, direct payments, and reimbursements through UNDP systems
- Prepare quarterly Combined Delivery Reports (CDR) and annual financial reports in compliance with UNDP requirements
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and reliability of all financial records and documentation
- Coordinate with financial management teams to ensure proper disbursement to implementing partners and beneficiary groups
- Maintain compliance with UNDP financial regulations, national taxation laws, and operational guidelines
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Establish and maintain robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks with clear indicators for tracking project progress, outputs, and outcomes
- Oversee regular data collection and analysis systems to track progress against project targets
- Prepare comprehensive quarterly and annual project implementation reviews for UNDP and project stakeholders
- Compile and submit progress reports, annual donor reports, and final project reports within stipulated timelines
- Coordinate with M&E specialists to develop verification mechanisms for project results
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to wool processing value chain development, beneficiary income, skills training completion, and livelihood improvements
- Prepare case studies, success stories, and project learning documentation for knowledge sharing
- Conduct regular field monitoring to assess project quality and implementation compliance
4. Stakeholder Coordination and Partnership Management
- Serve as primary liaison between UNDP, STD, ASES, government agencies, and beneficiary communities
- Establish and maintain regular communication with National Project Steering Committee members and project partners
- Organize and facilitate Project Board meetings at least twice annually to review progress and approve course corrections
- Develop and nurture relationships with all implementing agencies, NGOs, technical service providers, and CSR partners
- Coordinate with government forestry divisions, wool development boards, and line departments for policy alignment and resource mobilization
- Engage directly with beneficiary communities, self-help groups (SHGs), and producer organizations for participatory implementation
- Build and maintain partnership networks with skill development institutes, technical training centers, and market linkage organizations
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and coordination among various implementing partners
5. Wool Processing Value Chain Development
- Provide technical oversight on wool processing activities, including procurement, quality assurance, and market linkage development
- Support the establishment of community-based processing units and cooperative mechanisms
- Oversee the development of market linkages connecting wool producers with processors, traders, and end-buyers
- Coordinate value chain analysis studies to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
- Support the design and implementation of quality standards and grading protocols for processed wool products
- Facilitate market research and commodity analysis to ensure beneficiary products meet market demand
- Monitor supply chain efficiency and identify opportunities for value addition and product diversification
6. Skills Development and Capacity Building
- Lead the coordination of vocational skills training programs in wool processing, wool-based entrepreneurship, and business management
- Ensure training interventions are designed based on local demand and market requirements
- Support the identification and engagement of technical training institutions and vocational education centers
- Oversee training implementation, including trainer certification, curriculum alignment, and beneficiary assessment
- Monitor skill acquisition outcomes and facilitate job placement support for trained individuals
- Support capacity building programs for Self-Help Groups (SHGs), producer cooperatives, and community entrepreneurs
- Ensure gender mainstreaming and inclusion of marginalized communities in all capacity-building initiatives
7. Knowledge Management and Documentation
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation systems
- Ensure regular production of high-quality project reports, briefs, and knowledge products
- Facilitate development and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned documentation
- Support creation of multimedia content (photographs, short videos, case studies) from project activities
- Maintain organized databases for project beneficiaries, implementing partners, and performance metrics
- Prepare presentations and briefs for donor visits and stakeholder meetings
- Document project learning for organizational knowledge sharing and future project design
8. Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all project activities comply with UNDP regulations, national legislation, and organizational policies
- Implement quality assurance mechanisms to maintain implementation standards
- Ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguarding policies
- Support achievement of gender equality and social inclusion objectives across project activities
- Conduct regular compliance audits and address gaps promptly
- Maintain institutional and financial transparency in all project operations
9. Team Management and Coordination
- Provide day-to-day supervision and coordination to project staff at head office and field levels
- Lead project team meetings and ensure clear communication of project objectives and targets
- Support recruitment and onboarding of project team members
- Facilitate regular capacity building and professional development for project staff
- Ensure field teams receive adequate technical and administrative support
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on project excellence and beneficiary outcomes
- Manage performance evaluations and provide feedback to project staff
10. Donor Relations and Communications
- Maintain regular, transparent communication with UNDP on all project matters
- Provide timely updates and regular progress briefings to senior UNDP management
- Coordinate donor field visits and facilitate steering committee meetings
- Prepare donor presentations and quarterly/annual briefs
- Respond promptly to donor requests for information or special reports
- Represent ASES and project in donor meetings and sectoral platforms
- Ensure all donor communications reflect accurate project status and achievements
